Well my shopping has been a bit of a mixed bag of results, I went looking to get a copy of DoC only to discover that no one seemed to have it in stock. I ended up putting an order in for it at EB Games, as well as an order for FFXII, which is due out in Febuary.

As a consolation, I finally got Glamour Life Stuff for The Sims 2, plus a book I have been meaning to get for a year now - the last of a trilogy. Mum got hold of the other two books so she's glad I bought this one too.

I went and looked a couple of days ago on Wikipedia about releases of FF5 and FF6 - apparently there's been GBA rereleases recently, but if they're coming to Australia EB Games doesn't know about them yet.


I also lashed out in the grocceries a bit, bought a large can of Milo - and by large I mean LARGE - the biggest can normally sold in the supermarket at a cost of $10.49, and that was on special.


Had lots of fun having blood tests too, my viens wanted to play hide-and-seek, then didn't want to give up any blood. They had to resort to a different method of drawing (something called a butterfly clip - I've never looked at the thing though, I can stand get blood drawn for the tests if I don't have to watch them do it). Then one of the attachments involved in filling the vials had something leak so blood drops got spattered everywhere - very amusing.


Crap I'm tired, I think I'll go upstairs soon and see what I can do about making some more gil for Aran, Mathis, Kaiya and Theric - they need equipment before I send them off anywhere.


Oh, and lastly, been juggling icons again - probably overindulged on the Larsa icons, but damn! That kid is cute!

Anyone know where I can pick up some more FF4 or some FF1 (or 8-Bit Theatre) icons?

Well I started on cutting down my list of games I am backlogged on buying - I got a copy of Sims 2 Happy Holiday Stuff - the christmas expansion for this year.

Went for that first for two reasons, EB Games didn't have Glamour Life Stuff, even with discounts Pets would have been $10 more, and if I didn't jump on it now I'd likely miss the christmas one totally.

As for what to get next... well I either hunt down GLS, or I go for DoC - I'm still not sure. I'm a twit for memory cards and want more of those to backup DoC and FFXII (yes, I know it'd be months before it gets down here, but I may as well think ahead!) before I really start in on getting a DS Lite.

I hope I can avoid getting out the advance this year, I'd like not be total skint for over half a year (because dammit, it takes the better part of 3 months just to get over it!) but I bet that when my rent rise comes through it's going to hit pretty hard.

I supose I can hope the Powerball entry in my purse is a winner.


Anyway, maybe with HHS, I should get off my butt in regards to the Sims and see if my latest workings in SC4 make for better Sims neighbourhoods.

To put it simply, the observation on Balarlai's complection being similar to Xehanort's has reminded me of how Squeenix likes to make all of their bad guys (and girls) white-haired.

Let me list the usual suspects: Jenova, Sephiroth, Ultimecia, Kuja, Yunalesca, Baralai, Ansem/Xehanort/Xemnas, Kadaj, Loz and Yazoo, Wiess. All of them are white-haired.

The one who is a little questionable is Baralai - as that manifesto makes note of. He was possessed and really is only as much the true villain of the piece as say, Seifer. But it still means that through the mechanics of possession Shyuin has white hair by proxy.


I would be curious to know the hair colours of villains in other FFs - both before 7 and after 10-2. Maybe it's a theme that only started with Nomura but that would not be totally accurate because I have this impression that Nomura had nothing to do with 9 - barring borrowing Vivi for KH2. Plus going against the custom, Marluxia is totally not a silverhair - though silver-haired villainy makes its appearance elsewhere in CoM, in Riku's half of the game (if I'm not mistaken).


Anyway, it kinda makes me think that one may be able to predict who the true villain is in Squeenix productions (at least in FF stuff) by seeing who has the white hair.

This is another of my FFVII/FFVIII ficlets - you know, the ones where Vincent is a secret GF. This one I imagined from the POV of Ellone actually. I used an idea I had about the sort of position I think Vincent would take.
There's also a mention of something I thought up while chatting with angel_0f_sorrow - she will probably understand what I mean but no one else will since I didn't elaborate on the idea here.

I have no idea how like Vincent this sounds like. I'm not sure if I can right Vincent. I'll leave it up to the opinions of others if I got anywhere within a stone's throw of "Vincent".

This is in the same theme as that fic-thing from a week ago. FF7/FF8 crossover. No real spoilers, not even for DoC which this is so dependent on for an excuse for why Vincent is in the FF8 world.
