I really hate sim buildings where they've done something funky with the walls that results in them coming out as fences instead. I don't have the mods that fix those.

I'm trying to get Godo and Yuffie housed, though I'm in need of two properties because I want to ship Yuffie off to Uni as soon as I can re-establish her private school status and as soon as she gets home from that she's out and into her own house.

In other things, Ouch! My skin! Part 2: Got myself well and truly killed in the Lunar Subterrain by a nasty little bugger - a Little Murderer. That hurt twice as hard because I was working on a Quicksave so I lost the save. On the other hand, that means I can go tackle something I apparently missed earlier so... *Shrug* It also gives me a chance to buy a shitload of potions and such to keep my team going - particularly Dry Ethers.

Well my shopping has been a bit of a mixed bag of results, I went looking to get a copy of DoC only to discover that no one seemed to have it in stock. I ended up putting an order in for it at EB Games, as well as an order for FFXII, which is due out in Febuary.

As a consolation, I finally got Glamour Life Stuff for The Sims 2, plus a book I have been meaning to get for a year now - the last of a trilogy. Mum got hold of the other two books so she's glad I bought this one too.

I went and looked a couple of days ago on Wikipedia about releases of FF5 and FF6 - apparently there's been GBA rereleases recently, but if they're coming to Australia EB Games doesn't know about them yet.

I also lashed out in the grocceries a bit, bought a large can of Milo - and by large I mean LARGE - the biggest can normally sold in the supermarket at a cost of $10.49, and that was on special.

Had lots of fun having blood tests too, my viens wanted to play hide-and-seek, then didn't want to give up any blood. They had to resort to a different method of drawing (something called a butterfly clip - I've never looked at the thing though, I can stand get blood drawn for the tests if I don't have to watch them do it). Then one of the attachments involved in filling the vials had something leak so blood drops got spattered everywhere - very amusing.

Crap I'm tired, I think I'll go upstairs soon and see what I can do about making some more gil for Aran, Mathis, Kaiya and Theric - they need equipment before I send them off anywhere.

Oh, and lastly, been juggling icons again - probably overindulged on the Larsa icons, but damn! That kid is cute!

Anyone know where I can pick up some more FF4 or some FF1 (or 8-Bit Theatre) icons?

So, I started an FF1 game.

My team has a warrior, a thief, a white mage and a black mage. That fills in the basic requirements I formed back in my BG-playing days - power, sneakiness, magic and healing.

Their names are Aran Terrinal (the warrior), Mathis Hyilo (the thief), Kaiya Famarran (the white mage) and Theric Weslia (the black mage). Mathis would have been "Mathias" if it wasn't for restrictions on name length but I like Mathis just as well.

I'm already forming ideas about them but at least one idea I need to pester someone who knows the game to find out if it'd work. Otherwise, I imagine them as young, inexperienced, and in an establish foursome relationship (with certain patterns of just how they interact already forming in my head).

I am an unashaned moresome whore.

Anyone know where I can find FF1 sprite icons? Even 8-bit Theatre would do - but not with Red Mage, I don't have a red mage.

Well, my Dark Knight has turned into a Paladin and I'm bloody glad that while he went back to level one, he didn't lose HP. I would have been ropable if the game had done that!

Meanwhile, my D&D sensibilities are aching something bad from this - the nearest I can think of in that to whatever Cecil was as a Dark Knight is maybe a Doomguide (I think) - a special warrior of Kelemvor. Why that? Because Cecil's too nice to be a blackguard, which I think is the evil equivilent of a D&D paladin. Cecil I'd guage as Neutral Good, leaning towards Lawful, tipping over into Lawful once he changes class, because D&D paladins are universally Lawful Good.

Ee gads, I'm overthinking this aren't I? Blah, I just want more of Kain. How long before Kain gets some sense into him? *Pets Guardianverse!Bahamut-Kain, since he's starting to go emo about his less than glorious past.*

On the other hand, I'm glad I wandered around the landscape a bit and saved up for Cecil's new armour before toddling off to Mt. Ordeal, wouldn't want Mister Shinypants running around buck naked now would we? Well, maybe kain and Rosa might apreciate it but at the moment he's only got an old man and two kids (one I bet is inclined to be a right little perv too) as company.

Hey, now there's a shipping thought - Kain/Cecil/Rosa threesome! One-up that and throw in Rydia (once she grows up -and yes, I know she grows up fast due to being dragged off by Leviathan) and we have a possible OT4! :)

Oh yeah, I wandered over to FF.net to poke the early Final Fantasy section and found a C2 of Kain/Rydia. Sounds like a cool idea. Other point however is that Kain seems to be the FFIV emoboy. Blah, Bahamut is not emo - well not anymore emo that Tyr or Diablos or Griever are, Guardianverse emoboys grow up to be sensible GFs. Anyway, if Tyr was emo he'd have Frigga and Balder on his case, and if Diablos was emo he'd have both sides of Pheonix's double personality on his case. Griever would get it from Lady Time and Bahamut would get it from everyone.

I think I may be tired, which is why I seem to be rambling. I also am quite sure the Griever-bunny's friends (aka the Guardianverse GFs) have decided to take over my brain.

G-verse GFs: We're in ur brain, steelin' ur attention.

Yup, I'm nuts. Maybe I should take up calling myself an idiot again! :B
mimi_sardinia: (Where will you be...)
Well I probably had the oddest way of seeing in the new year - sitting on the toilet, getting a numb leg, playing FFIV.

And with that TMI thought, happy new year peoples.

"You spoony bard!"

Spoony? What is that suposed to mean? I supose I can be happy that it didn't get changed due to tighter translation but every time I have ever seen it I have always wondered what it's suposed to mean.

At least I know where it comes from now!

So, I am venturing into a new FF, one of the older (pre-7) ones too!

Already got a nice fill of the FF theme (the one that's in the credits of FF8, AC and the Revenant Wings trailer), plus the Crystal theme (the Prelude from FF7).

I have come across my first problem - how do you take the characters seriously when they have such cute little sprites?

Also, does anyone know of an icon with Kain and Cecil in it, with the caption "Stop staring at my butt, Kain" - or something along those lines? Seems I never saved a copy but now that I'm going to be playing FF4 I want that icon and the one person who I thought has it doesn't.

I stumbled across a really good buy today, while I was in poking around Target. Two PS2 memory cards for $39.88.

Now take into consideration that all the other memory cards all had the exact same price, for single card packs.

I didn't actually see any other double packs in either of the security cabinets that contained memory cards so I think I was lucky.

That means I have one memory card per game that I currently own - though I'm not sure if that means I will take up playing FFX again yet - I have enough of a juggle finding time to play both of my KH games between work and my internet addiction (really, I love the internet - I seem to find excuses to stay on - even when the only apparently interesting option is to put on The Sims 2. I just feel like the internet is one of my few true links with the world - one that's interactive).

So I'll haul myself upstairs soon and start shifting games onto these two darlings so I'm not filling card space at both ends (I have my KH2 save at the bottom end of the same card that my KH1 saves are on) and they are still all playable, which is more than I can say for the saves on the Max Drive (I have to stick in the AR Max disk to even be able to identify the flashdrive on the PS2, let alone be able to transfer games from it to a memory card).

In a slightly odd turn of fan-driven perchasing, I bought a packet of sherbet lemons. I totally blame American publishers who feel a need to translate British books into American English - specifically the Harry Potter books, which I once heard a few examples of how typically British idioms and word usages got changed into more American ones. The three examples I recall is pants/trousers, lorry/pickup truck and sherbet lemons/[some sort of term for lemon candy].

*Idly using the Squee! icon because I have Xemnas on the brain at the moment.*

I'm going to have to get used to this new mouse - it's a mini one, because that was the cheapest option I could get without going down to the Hyperdome.

I got my CD from the post office - the FFVIII orchestral CD. It's rather nice so far.

Also, I made a solid promise to myself on the metter of getting myself a gameboy - "solid" in the form of a laybuy with three GBA games on it, FF1&2, FF4 and Dr. Mario/Puzzle League (two Tetris-like games - Puzzle League is the same type of Tetris-type game as a SNES game I loved to death).
