This is the start of a fic that will probably never get any more written, because, well, it's me. Fic writing and me have a difficult relationship where, while I have been told I'm good, I have trouble keeping it up in the long term.
This is, umm... a crossover? Of sorts? Thing is, it's a crossover with a 'verse of my own creation, like Thousand Suns is, only the recognisable half is Harry Potter.

I'm currently reading more HP fic and the current fic I'm on has a lot of diary excerpts. There's a line where Harry is talking about what sort of present he should get for Neville and it's followed by the thought that he should some time "hand him Bella's head on a platter".
I didn't immediately think of Bellatrix Lestrange when I read that, which just shows I have a bit too much Sims 3 on the brain.
BTW, Mum was talking about taking Fea in to be fixed some time today (it's currently 4:03 AM, so it is technically Thursday), after an electrician comes to fix a faulty hotplate on our stove. I hope it's low cost because I'll only have about $195 spare on Friday, and that's if I don't spend any extra and keep the groceries down to minimum. The compy is likely to need cleaning anyway, yesterday's storm not withstanding, we have terrible dust problems here (it's the fault of a quarry east of here).

21 October 2007 00:52As much as I may have left the fandom mostly behind, I am rather amused by J.K. Rowling's latest Potter revelation.
I also can't help but wonder at the line quoting her as saying "Oh, my god," ... "the fan fiction." and wonder how much she does know about the fanfiction. I mean, even without reading any herself (due to the legal reasons involved), she probably knows about a fair bit of the batshit fandom gets up to, whether she knows this pairing already has it's fair share of ficcage is not unlikely.

Well, I got up some time after 1:30, went and got the book, went for drive out to the coast, and read the last chapter and a half (that includes epilogue).

Fic Archive 11
22 February 2007 19:59Okay, so did say I aught to clear out the "Other Ficcness" folder in my memories into one of these archives some time but I really didn't realise just how much stuff my recent turn to Torchwood has expanded it, so this issue has all my incidental fandom reading (including fandoms I don't really know all that well), and all my older Doctor Who fic - stuff that is left since the last time I went reading Whofic, back before Torchwood and probably back before Series 2 of DW.
Some time I'll get onto doing the newer Whofic that's gathered - stuff since my latest turn that's mainly a pile of Torchwood fic with little bits of the Doctor thrown in.

I stumbled across a really good buy today, while I was in poking around Target. Two PS2 memory cards for $39.88.
Now take into consideration that all the other memory cards all had the exact same price, for single card packs.
I didn't actually see any other double packs in either of the security cabinets that contained memory cards so I think I was lucky.
That means I have one memory card per game that I currently own - though I'm not sure if that means I will take up playing FFX again yet - I have enough of a juggle finding time to play both of my KH games between work and my internet addiction (really, I love the internet - I seem to find excuses to stay on - even when the only apparently interesting option is to put on The Sims 2. I just feel like the internet is one of my few true links with the world - one that's interactive).
So I'll haul myself upstairs soon and start shifting games onto these two darlings so I'm not filling card space at both ends (I have my KH2 save at the bottom end of the same card that my KH1 saves are on) and they are still all playable, which is more than I can say for the saves on the Max Drive (I have to stick in the AR Max disk to even be able to identify the flashdrive on the PS2, let alone be able to transfer games from it to a memory card).
In a slightly odd turn of fan-driven perchasing, I bought a packet of sherbet lemons. I totally blame American publishers who feel a need to translate British books into American English - specifically the Harry Potter books, which I once heard a few examples of how typically British idioms and word usages got changed into more American ones. The three examples I recall is pants/trousers, lorry/pickup truck and sherbet lemons/[some sort of term for lemon candy].
