So I went in to my Sims game, finally got Cid moved in with Tifa, had to fix a slight oversight (when I moved Cid in, Shera came, but Kain didn't), then I shuffled off to Sim State University to start making up some of the sims I'd idly made in Body Shop.

Problem the First: Two of my Bhaalspawn sims (sims I'd made up of my BG2 protagonists) weren't showing so I decided not to make up any of the Bhaalspawn. Not to matter, I had a few others sitting around that I could make up, and inventiveness with some of the models generated more... as well as one lucky accident.

So now I have dorm with one human, two Drow, one Moon Elf, an Aasimar and a Tiefling.

A-like so... )

Ever go read something that's for an old fandom and get new ideas for it? I kinda had something like that happen today.

Got reading a couple of my D&D manuals - particularly the Forgotten Realms ones. The idea in question? Total OC story, somewhat immprobable given the character races... but is potentially a rather cute and sweet romance idea anyway.

To put it basically, a Cormanthor drow falls in love with an Eilistraeean elf. The drow is the male (nominally a Vhaeraun worshipper, but I supose if such a senario was to work he'd have to be very disaffected with any of the drow's usual (i.e. evil) deities - even Vhaeraun), and one of the major points - to start with - is a facination with the elven maiden's almost totally opposite colouration - very pale to almost white skin and practically black hair (I also imagine both her skin and hair have slight blueish tints - she'd have to be a moon elf with that colouring, but then moon elves are suposed to be the most common).

It's times like this I wish I could trust my writing. Oh well, I supose I could see if I have a head of white male hair I like and make up sims for them - I only hope I have a head of short spikey hair in white, I have rather a fondness for the drow in the picture comparing elven races in the front of the Forgotten Realms campaign setting, who is rather cute, has short spikey hair (but not Squeenix spikey) and a double-ended sword with wavey blades.

I can't help it, I think I can classify myself as a frustrated storyteller. Computer games that don't have a particularly set backstory end up with me inventing one - like me making up reasons for the Org in The Sims 2, or trying to clarify obscure back-histories, like I once did with FFVIII.

This time, it's an oldie - Icewind Dale.

I find myself making up a history for my team in the game, or more particularly, for the first two members of it, Illyana Icequeen and Cailya Brightsteel.

While setting up a couple of experimental sims to do testing on I realised something, I have enough custom content to create drow sims )

Skintone comes from one version of Hexidecimal (from Reboot) that I downloaded. The hair comes from a site called XM Sims that I got the link to from [livejournal.com profile] enelar.

Bahamut is in D&D! He's apparently the god of Good Dragons and is in direct opposition to Tiamat!

Problem is he doesn't appear on the deity list I have in my favourites. I may end up spamming the Attic about him at some point but whatever, he's now officially an avatar of himself in my fusion idea.

I have been contemplating FF/BG crossovers again - or more specifically a FF/BG fusion.

Oh dear Eru...

I got thinking how much I like the voice at the start of the Crisis Core trailer - the one that's being debated as being Aeris. Of course that lead me to brief thought of Cloud/Aeris which in turn lead to my current dominant yaoi pairing Cloud/Vincent, which in turn led to my current idle contemplation of a FF7/BG2 crossover wherein at least Cloud and Vincent get stuck in Amn, which in turn lead me to thinking about other voice actors, namely that of Aerie, and thinking how much more I like [the presumed] Aeris. That then lead to the OME thought: Aerie getting fixated on Cloud. MEEP! Not that she'd have any luck because if it were me writing (which unfortunately it wouldn't because I know I'd get two chapters in before I got tired and gave up) the only [living] person Cloud would have any sort of feelings for would be Vincent.

I had this rather vivid image flash into mind of Reno ala AC that makes me think he would work well as a model for a D&D elf.

The thing with D&D elves is that they have a distinctively angular facial structure, which to my mind makes them look rather alien and despite the general reputation of elves being beautiful I don't particularly like it. On the other hand, if Reno were an elf I'd be more accepting because Denmark, Reno is cute!

That leaves me wondering what type of elf Reno would be. The basic elven subraces include Gold, Grey, Wild, Wood, Aquatic and Drow elves. He wouldn't be a Drow at least (black skin, white hair? Not Reno!) and I won't consider Aquatic. Using Forgotten Realms for specifics (as it's the campaign setting I know the best) I'd say he'd most likely be a Moon (Grey) Elf though the bright red hair would be remarkably unusual.

Pity I can't rely on Paint to shrink the picture I'm thinking is closest to the mental image I had or I'd make up a Baldur's Gate portrait set and spam the Attic with it.

Eee gads, I need to poke teh Bint into going and reading the new chapters of A Capella!
