Nausicaä...

I'm starting to wonder if the version of Nausicaä of the Valley of the Wind I saw back when I was a kid wasn't the one the wikipedia article mentions as having been edited by the American distributors to the point where a lot of the evironmentalist message in it was massacred.
There's parts - particularly the more evironmentalist parts - that don't look familar to me at all and I'm wondering if it's my bad memory or if I really never saw those parts before.
So as you can guess, it was in at the video store when I took back the load of Disney. I am glad however to have a chance to watch it again, it's a good story.

2006-10-27 20:39 (UTC)If you've seen it back then, odds are pretty good you saw "Warriors of the Wind". And yes, Topcraft butchered it. (the same guys who made The Hobbit animated film)

2006-10-29 06:20 (UTC)In the Warriors of the Wind version, Nausicaa is voiced by Rocky the Flying Squirrel from Rocky & Bullwinkle. Frankly, they had nowhere to go but up.
