I've mostly been placing houses and making families in the Sims - I have Edea ready to move into her permanent house, I replaced Optimus and Magnus with a couple of independently made versions so Magnus isn't stuck with the same surname as Optimus, and I remade my ( Self Sims )
FF8 Thingies
25 February 2006 19:03The Incident with Laguna fighting a Red Dragon seems out of order to the rest of the course of events in the dreams to me but it has every indicator that it's not (Ward not speaking). After Laguna's feverent wish not to leave Winhill seems at odds to the image of him wandering off to act in a B-grade movie (hey, the scene really makes it look that - hell, it makes it look even worse! Makes it look as bad as a particular ultra-crappy movie about Avalon (as in Arthurian legend Avalon) from my time hunting for any Conan-type fantasy adventures).
So when did it happen? The flashback of him talking to Edea happened afterwards (Ellone was talking directly to Squall in between the dragons and that one) so I am guessing it happened after too, so did the dragons happen while he was searching?
Maybe I'll get a clue further on.
Oh for having a map that is marked with numbers instead of names! (It does have the names listed underneath.) I found out I uselessly sailed Garden right around the wrong side of the Esthar continent way up to Trabia while looking for the Great Salt Lake. On the other hand, I stopped off on the way to finding the White SeeD ship and picked up Odin so that's a plus! I think I am going to have to pick a fight and stand around long enough to get someone killed (not easy when I Griever'd everyone's stats to feckin' kingdom come!) so I can pull out the Pheonix Pinion. Hmm, I wonder at what point I get to go for the Solomon Ring too?
Oh, and on the subject of flying Garden, something that came up in a thread with
blueshinra:
As the Garden Turns...
"NIDA!!! What the hell are you doing??!!!"
"Oops! Sorry Squall!"
I will say this, I will be bloody happy when I get Ragnarok, but then I had a similar idea in FF7 about Highwind too (and a Gold Chocobo, because no matter how I tried, I couldn't work out the trick to get off the Highwind on the Quadra Magic side of the cliff, plus KotR are cool).
Oh well, I have to go do some washing up but then I'll get back to FF8 - I'm on a bit of a run at the moment and I don't want to break that off for too long or I'll get distracted with trying to raise Ellone Ifalna (my Sim Squall and Aerith's baby) and neglect FF8 for a month or so.
I also am still debating trying to run BG1 again, but only after I finish this game. Will have to find out if I need XP patches for it and BG2.
