- Tue, 12:43: https://t.co/pj2EkWlKvX <-- Doing this.
- Tue, 12:45: 1. I have no idea when they were originally bought but my brother Grey owned a set of the LotR books when I was a kid. [...]
- Tue, 12:46: [...] I was at least 11 or 12 when I first tried reading them (I say try because there were large parts I didn't read until after the movies
- Tue, 12:47: [...] parts like a lot of Rohan, Helm's Deep and Minas Tirith. I read all of Frodo & Sam, and Merry & Pippin in Fangorn.
- Tue, 12:48: 2. As of now, favourite book is the Silmarillion, favourite movie is The Hobbit (AUJ). The latter may change, but not the former.
- Tue, 12:49: 3. I was annoyed at the PJ movies for leaving out the Grey Company (the group of Dunadain who came to join Aragorn [...]
- Tue, 12:50: [...] before the Paths of the Dead, along with Elladan & Elrohir. Maybe it's more those two - I would have liked to see Elrond's boys.
- Tue, 12:51: 4. Hmm... there are so few females in these movies anyway that all the big ones are awesome so I can't hate them. [...]
- Tue, 12:52: [...] Top favourite is a toss-up between Arwen and Eowyn.
- Tue, 12:53: 5.a. Least favourite:The Great Goblin, because he's even uglier than any of the orcs or Uruks.
- Tue, 12:55: 5.b. Top favourite: Even draw for Fili & Kili - they're both cute as well as nice friendly caracters.
- Tue, 12:55: [...] They win out over even Bilbo because hobbit propriety would be a bit stuffy for me.
- Tue, 12:56: 6. Thing with Middle-Earth is that it's not all that *safe*. I'd prefer somewhere safe. It's a toss-up between Rivendell & the Shire.
- Tue, 12:58: 7. The song in Bree about when the Man in the Moon came down that is an extended take on "The Cat and the Fiddle". It's hilarious.
- Tue, 12:59: 8. Top favourite is the Valar, followed by Hobbits. I love the mythology, but Hobbits seem like the ones I'd get on with best.
- Tue, 13:00: 9. "Song of the Lonely Mountain", followed closely by "Into the West".
- Tue, 13:01: 10. Rivendell. Lothlorien has too many stairs & Imladris seems a bit more homey.
- Tue, 13:02: 11. I'm probably the fat hobbit two from the left in any given Shire scene. I would love to be more like Arwen.
- Tue, 13:03: 12. Third. As much as I love the Silm stories, that era seems far too rough. I'd consider Second, but only if I was living on Numenor.
- Tue, 13:04: 13. I'm not sure I have a least favourite movie. The Hobbit is my least favourite book for values dissonance.
- Tue, 13:06: [...]So much of the stuff in TH was very much for it's audience (even though I think Tolkien was great for not dumbing it down) [...]
- Tue, 13:07: [...] But stuff like how the quest was all about getting the treasure, the dissonance with the latter LotR in the behaviour of elves... yeah
- Tue, 13:07: 14. You really have to ask this? Team "Free Peoples" thanks! I'm on the side of the Valar!
- Tue, 13:08: 15. I'd love to have Fili, Kili & Arwen as besties.
- Tue, 13:09: 16. Currently Bilbo. It was probably Frodo previously.
- Tue, 13:10: 17. Given the first one is out & I have no problem with any of the variations from the book, I'm dandy with "The Hobbit" movies. I want DoS!
- Tue, 13:11: 18. The nearest I've ever come to cosplaying anyone LotR is my bendy swords & bappy hammer. I don't have the figure for most characters.
- Tue, 13:12: [...] And you won't get me cosplaying as the Great Goblin, or a troll, but I'd maybe consider a random hobbit lady.
- Tue, 13:13: 19. Films. Not that I dislike the books, but film is easier to absorb, more dramatic, & has ready faces to get obsessed over. (Mmm, Thorin!)
- Tue, 13:14: 20. Richard Armitage, even though I'd be practically speechless doing so. Or Jed Brophy, because he's been in all the LotR movies.
- Tue, 13:15: 21. Oddly (given my love of Thorin) I'd bring back Kili. I'm not sure that'd be kind though, to bring him back without Fili.
- Tue, 13:16: 22. Bilbo wanting the Ring in Rivendell. That face is still a shocker, even after all this time!
- Tue, 13:18: 23. I'm not one for crying, just a bit of that pre-crying tight throat. I get that at the end of RotK, in the Grey Havens scene.
- Tue, 13:18: [...] I am expecting it in droves for the BoFA scenes.
- Tue, 13:20: 24. A scene or two with Elrond's sons. Wouldn't have had to be big, they could have just been background characters, I just wanted them in.
- Tue, 13:21: 25. The way everything that made Frodo himself got slowly destroyed until he couldn't remember anything good, [...]
- Tue, 13:22: [...] leaving him with the only option to claim the Ring for himself. Then after that he's still left so badly hurt.
- Tue, 13:24: 26. Sorry not creative at all, but Rivendell to see all it's art & stuff, the Shire for the food, Gondor & Erebor for sight-seeing [...]
- Tue, 13:24: [...] and the Grey Havens because I want to see more of that very urban elven city.
- Tue, 13:26: 27. I think I'd prefer Elrond's. Vilya, wasn't it? I know Narya was Gandalf's (Nar- means fire) but I'm not quite sure about the others.
- Tue, 13:27: 28. Already said: The Silmarillion. Also, Peoples of Middle-Earth, for "The Shibboleth of Feanor".
- Tue, 13:27: 29. Not heard it, but I'd love to.
- Tue, 13:28: 30. That's hard to answer. It's one of the mainstays of fantasy. It's deeper & more meaningful than most other stuff, [...]
- Tue, 13:29: [...] which most is based on - just look at the basic races of D&D, all derived from LotR. LotR is also the Unbuilt Trope - so many tropes
- Tue, 13:31: are based on LotR, but they're not *in* LotR because they formed into what they are *after* LotR.
- Tue, 13:31: LotR is also to blame for my Varda muse.
