Phone Issues

I mentioned last week that I lost my phone. Well I went to get a new one today. Only problem? They didn't have the model in stock!
They only had one model on the sort of plan I'm on, so there wasn't other options, and I can't afford to buy a handset outright - even the cheap ones (which are only about $40 or $50). I went down there with only $1.65 in my purse, and I was keeping that for a bread roll.
Anyway, they've put an order in for the phone and will call me when it comes in.
I did get the sim card straight away, but the old phone I have didn't work at all... so it's now in the bin. The sim card is safely stored in a mint tin I got at a coffee shop.
Because I lost 2.0 while still in the first contract period, I'm going to be paying $22 a month until next February. The first phone contract after one gets a post-paid phone one slowly pays off the phone itself. That extra is probably paying the rest of 2.0's cost off.
So it could be a couple more weeks before I have a mobile phone again. Oh well, like I said before, I can cope - I just need to remember to put Sentinel in my bag when I go out - usually my phone is also my regular clock, since I'm not really fond of wearing watches (and my keyring watch needs new batteries again). Sentinel (my DS) can be my clock, though I also need new earphones too because I've lost mine, and without them Sent is rather soft while outdoors.
