Well today has been... interesting. Woke up this morning with the side of my face aching.
Ever had the instance where, when you've got a tooth ache, it spreads itself across several surrounding teeth? Yeah, I had that, and also the migratory pain too.
So since my mouth decided that 5 AM was a good time to get up, and that I was not allowed to go back to sleep, I had an early shower and woke Mum to ask her if she could drop me round and the hospital.
Yes, the local hospital has a regular dental clinic.
Anyway, after expected waiting, I got in, though I had to go round to the hospital's main X-ray unit to get an x-ray - probably because it's too difficult to get an x-ray film back into the area of the wisdom teeth. Went back, wait a bit more, ached a bit more, then got in.
Verdict? Remove the culprit tooth.
The tooth right at the far back of the right top side had bad decay in the side facing the next tooth, and I get an impression wisdom teeth are less than totally cared about. Either way, it meant needles, a tooth being pulled, and me having a wad of cotton in my mouth as I went to find a bus home.
That's the other thing too - I was mostly on my own with this detal visit because today was delivery day for Mum's chair and the TV cabinet. As it turned out, they hadn't been delivered by the time I got home, but with things like this you have to be careful. I went to bed not long after and got up an hour ago, to see Mum's new furniture in place.
So all that's left is for me to remain careful about the new hole in my jaw (and not knock out the blood clot in the wound - basically the start of the healing), and in the next few days get my room cleared of the fan chair and the cabinet, random unshelved books, random under-bed detritus, and vacuum the room. Dear Primus, the room needs vaccing.
