I did something stupid in my sims game - I killed off a character, thinking I could bring them back easily. Which character? Bella. Yes, the girl who I was playing the romance of the ages with - half of my now-chief pairing in the game (hey, both she and Morty turned out to be Primusbedamned gorgeous characters in this game!).
So since I found out how fragging hard it is to get a dead sim back (especially when I don't get a call from the Science Facility), I have decided to start a new version of Sunset Valley and start over again.
This does mean I have no Alana and the triplets, no Serrinetta Alquondali haunting the empty house next door to Anges, no Shodan, Attaravi and Calminetta, no Nathaniel. I was a bit of a fool and deleted the base versions of Alana, Shodan, the Alquondali family and Nathaniel. I am however lucky that I still have the base for Azure and have already put her back in as the Goths' housekeeper. No sign of the mysterious Anna Song, but the vanishing Stiles McGraw is back and a number of children are back to being children again (like Malcolm Landgrabb isn't a chubby teen yet).
Soo far I have done a long stint in the Goth house so I am now moving over to the Bachelors to play with Bella. There are certain things from the first game I'll be repeating, though I may hold on longer on some of them. I think I'll still kill off Jocasta, and later Gunther, but I may keep them around a bit longer (at least keep Jocasta until I age up Bella, so she can take over the garden). I'm going to manually set up the relationship Bella got in while I was off playing with Nathaniel and later Agnes. I am thinking of also re-establishing the relationship I built for Agnes - I paired her off with Jamie Jolina, a pretty blonde Young Adult female in the town - and had them have a girl that I named Maud (Agnes is a bit of an old-fashioned name, so when trying to think up another old-fashioned name, Maud was what came to mind).
But I won't make the mistake of killing off my lead characters again - at least not until an option comes out that allows me to either control NPC ghosts or a more reliable way of resurrecting dead sims appears in either future expansions or custom hacks.
This however is one of the times I wish I could trust my endurance for writing fic, because I'd love to write a fic about the epic romance of Mortimer Goth and Bella Bachelor (maybe not necessarily including her eventual fate in Pleasantview, but probably including a baby girl named Cassandra).
