Sims Picspam

I'm a bit bored, and I haven't posted in a while (haven't been doing much and haven't had any significant toy acquisitions), so I felt like spamming my journal with random pics from my Sims game, and general Sims natter.
First off, the Twins:

I really find it a little annoying that catching Butterfies and other bugs is something that doesn't seem to be player-initiated. At least, one can't click on butterflies to prompt it. I think Sunny did manage to get some butterflies in that attempt, though the backpack doesn't really show it.

I have been studiously making sure Sunny works on her artistic endeavours. She doesn't just paint though, she also sews and makes pottery and plays instruments sometimes. I personally like the synthesiser, especially when the sim playing comes up with classical music.

Sunny gets a steam bath. Yes, she's also giving off witchy radiance of Infalible Goodness, but my Sunny muse utterly refused to allow his holo-sim to be turned green! Besides, the skin sparkles of good witches suits Sunny.

Sides browses the web. Despite what it looks like, I'm sure she wasn't reading about sport - I think it may have been about nature since Sides does most of the gardening of the two. Also, the Twins are the first sims I've taken off to the Nature hobby lot.

There's a cheerleader girl who pops around to Sunny and Sides' place a lot. I used the InSim Relations Adjuster to engineer a dislike for her and this was the eventual result.

Sunny has cute plaits in Outerwear.

The Twins like to play Red Hands.

And research together.

And eat sparkly meals of self-caught fish.

Those sparkles bemuse me.

And watch TV! The person in the middle? The same cheerleader I engineered the fight with.

Turns out the one in the Decepticon household who is pregnant is Soundwave - I couldn't recall until I saw "Baby..." on the interaction options when Sound wandered by at Wochenmarkt. That probably means I should play that house again soon.

Meanwhile (a few in-game hours earlier) Sunny hugs the Boss. Platonically.

I decided a little while ago to finally make up some characters who have come from random night-dreams and shove them into uni in my game. This is three of them - the forth I didn't feel like closing the game and fooling around in Body Shop to get a young adult version of his base.
Somewhere, a few weeks ago, or so, I posted about a dream where a blonde girl was in a class with a black guy who looked like Rude from FF7. Well I made both of those characters up - the guy is even named "Rude Turk".
The second girl (named Anna) is from a more recent dream which had some hint of an office setting and a lot of sex. Anna's base sim is the same one Sunny and Sides were made from. I've turned Anna into another witch.
As for Anna's partner, Nathaniel, I had to make him up in the main nieghbourhood, because I used Magnus's base sim for him, only with brown hair instead of black. Anyway, I ended up deaging Nathaniel so he could go through childhood - a fast one - and had him adopted by one of my random OCs, Lydia Aphos - my first Neutral witch too.

As it happened, I had Nathan, Lydia and Lyds' then-girlfriend and workmate Cassandra (Goth - the base game character from Pleasantview who was in S1 as a child) out stargazing (one of my game's numerous glitchs is with stargazing through telescopes, so laying around outside is the only effective way I can improve their science enthusiasm) and Lyds got killed by a falling satellite! I'd never had that happen before - at least not without forcing it with InSim.

Cassandra bargained with Death (and yes, my Cassandra Goth is very heavily made-over)...

...And won! Getting Lydia back!

BTW, here's the aforementioned Nathaniel, as a teen. I think he was just heading out to work there - education career, top of the track for a teen, as a Substitute Teacher.

I also had Nathan get involved with Starwing after she can home from school with him. I have no intentions of continuing that relationship, as Nathan is intended from Anna, but it makes a cute mark in both their memories.
More recently, I decided to do something about the annoyance of the local Plantsim that I just can't play. It's another of the glitches my game has that Plantsims throw constant errors so much that they are unplayable, so I'd been into that house previously and deplanted Rose and Daisy Greenman... but I wasn't fond of the human-looking Rose and Daisy.
So, I hunted down a hacked item I'd once read about previously - Christianlove's Sim Copy Mirror - created a model sim to copy off (who is named Folia Greenleaf and is living next-door to Blackarachnia) and transferred the plantsim looks back only Rose. I later aged up Daisy and re-planted her too, making both her and Rose witches, then de-aging Daisy again. I however didn't initially have the leaf-hair, so I used some of the head of green hair I'd had at the time, but then downloaded a set of hairstyles called "Candied Fruit" - wavy black hair that turns bright primary colours.

Anyway, here's Daisy as she was right after her remodelling and witchy training.

And Rose. I also got some leafy outfits as well.

Close-up of Rose. She doesn't have her original face because the Copy Mirror... well it copies everything over from the model sim, so I had to do some work with modifying Rose's face so she wasn't Folia's exact twin.

I went hunting through MST2 for Plantsim stuff, but there was not much of Plantsim-style clothing for children - not even plant-hair, so when I eventually aged Daisy up, she ended up with this head of olive-green hair, since I wanted something different from the Candied Fruits hair.

However I did get plenty of stuff in that MST2 hunt for adults, and my Rose is looking far more authentically Plantsim again, even if she's only a faux-Plantsim. She is however at full enthusiasm for the Nature hobby, which is fitting for a Plantsim, even a false one.

And lastly... Jason has pretty legs when he's dressing all planty!
And on related things, I have spent some time clearing out some of the ridiculous excess of junk in my custom content for the game - stuff like clothing, make-up, eye colours and skintones - stuff that I have to use Body Shop to clear out. I did however get some good contact lenses for my sims to use that look like proper sim eyes and not so ultra realistic that they look weird in the game. The problem with some custom content makers - especially the make-up and skintone creators - is that they try to make stuff to make sims look so realistic that it's just repellent. This game isn't for realism! It's for fun and slightly comical characters! The facial expressions sims pull don't suit realism at all.
Admittedly, sim of the stuff I junked means a few sims have probably lost one attribute or another - I know Folia, Rose and Daisy have lost their green contacts (because Rose and Daisy were re-plantified off Folia, they got Folia's weird-cool swirly eyes too) and I'm not too sure if the two sets of contacts from before I did keep are the same ones that Edea, Ellone and Ultimecia were wearing. I know I probably did scrap Blaise and Jenova's contacts. I haven't yet gone in and assessed who needs new contacts and won't do so until at least tonight (I'm currently almost totally nocturnal).
Still, it's nice to know I've gotten rid of some of the junk. Next I'm going to have to consider tackling the custom hair styles section which is also overloaded with lots of unsorted junk, but the prospect of going through and binning all the unbinned hair that could go into the normal colour bins is daunting.
