mimi_sardiniaSo, we took the car in. It took the guy a bit of work to find the parts for the window - apparently most Lanos cars have electrical window mechanisms, not manual ones like our car has. Ironically, it was only half an hour after they'd called to tell us it could take ages to find one when they called again to tell us they found one - in Brisbane. It took another few hours to get it couriered over.
It cost more than we thought, but that wasn't too much of an issue - this was always first priority.
I did however get a few other things - I got Sides and Blue off laybuy, while I was waiting this morning I looked through Woodridge Kmart's toy section and found Soundwave, and when we went back to get the job done after the parts came in, I also went looking through the discount store and found some TF knock-offs and got two of them (they were all of $4 each, though construction is about as good as the price would imply).

On the top left, Sunstreaker and Prowl's noses can just be seen sitting on top of my DVD player (which itself was a pre-xmas present when I was thinking I'd be stuck in hospital for longer than I ended up being - it needs a name, any suggestions?), Booster can be seen in MP3 mode, along with Night Beat's earpod, one the top right, and the missiles in Chromia's cannon can be seen in the top right corner.
Already some toy-muse politics are making themselves felt - Soundwave has already taken an interest in the MP3 twins, Booster and Night Beat, Sunstreaker has practically snuggled up to Sides, Blue splits his time between snuggling up to Prowl and snuggling up to the Twins (since I have no Skydive yet), and Knock-off Sunstorm has been adopted already by Jet and Screamer.
Knock-off Vector is a little miffed at me still, because I refused to buy him a Safeguard. I think KO!Sunstorm has gone and told the Jets, because I'm getting annoyance from Screamer too, because he wants TFA!Jetfire and Jetstorm because they're jets, and Screamer has ambitions of having a jet harem, but with only G1!Jetfire and now KO!Sunstorm (and that Miniscream has deserted him in favour of hanging out with Arcee, Beatmix Bee and Chromia), he doesn't really have much to call a "harem" yet.
KO!Vector hasn't even talked to his "big brothers", the Vector twins, yet, so I don't know how they think of him yet.
I do want to get Jetfire and Jetstorm, but I want to wait until after the trip into the hospital tomorrow - I may need to use some of the money I have left for incidental things. I hope I don't need to, I have another $30 still in my account - which reminds me, I have LJ fees to pay.

2009-02-17 15:30 (UTC)On the other hand, I suffer very little clamour from the cars, though Sunny was being demanding about getting Sides. Thankfully the trucks don't pester - Prime, Mags and Roller are playing happy families and Maggy is to engrossed in making Thor squeak. The only other faction that gets stroppy at me is Iceman - he wants more allies... though Arcee has expressed a wish to have Blackarachnia as well, which is a little problematic because she's disappeared from the stores for the most part (as has TFA Prowl, which I have recently decided I'd like to have too, to placate TFA Jazz once I get him).
