Also ran into Ryan Trawl, ended up tripping off the Unseeing Eye when I had to go to Ano's Judgement. Yey progress.

Ohh I love Latimer. I hope there's more of him in the ToB portion - he seems to give up and run off too quickly, a rematch would be fantastic. How's his sleazy voicing??? Sounds like the actor had great fun with it.

The voice actor certainly did well, it's the sort of voice you'd want to immediately hate. I can totally imagine Merric doing exactly that when he finally did encounter Latimer.

Well there are several different paths to take. I think it's possible to make Nathaniel abandon both of you. Dunno about making him leave with Latimer, I haven't got a heart to put him through that.

When the ToB content comes around, I'm going to play the romance through with the same character I used for the first time. It's firm in my head now - I play Alec the sorcerer when romancing Nathaniel. That's just the way it works. A sorcerer and Imoen for arcane power, and Keldorn and Anomen to tank.

I'm much the same, I can't really think of anyone else with Solaufein than Blaise, and now anyone with Nathaniel but Merric. On the other hand, I'm easy-going on the issue of Anomen and Imoen - probably because it's been a long time since Narri was a big part of my mindset on BG.

Narri, being my first PC that I played the game through on, was before I found mods (barring an EXP cap remover, or SK) so she is firmly with Anomen but Anomen is not exclusively with her in my head because there were a collection of Bhaalspawn character ideas I had at the time but never played and I almost universally imagined them with Ano. Lack of imagination there methinks.

It's also been long enough since then that while I'm still fond of them, I'm not totally hooked on Sarry/Imm anymore. One of the reasons I downloaded and installed Kelsey was because I wanted him on Merric's team for the component where he romances Imoen. It's kinda nice to think of Immy getting someone and Kelsey is cute.

But I'll likely play Nathaniel ToB with Merric Thorn - that's stuck in my head quite well now.


Oh BTW, you asked about mod ideas? I'm writing up one at the moment that'd consist of three to four semi-random encounters with some NPCs. The fun part of it is that the NPCs are a total take-off on Final Fantasy VII.

Have you got the Dungeon-B-Gone mod? Seriously, if you're sick of Chateu Irenicus it's the best mod EVER.

I keep a saved game just before the Nathaniel/Latimer confrontation, so I go back to see it when I feel like it. Actually I also went back to an Underdark save, picked up Sola, and cheated my way through that romance because I wanted to see Nathaniel's reaction.

Oh god, I've checked, and you CAN make Thaniel leave with Latimer! Poor thing!

CHARNAME: You obviously still feel for him, no matter what we had ... go with him if that's what you want.
N: I don't know ... if it - if I should...
L: You know it's best. You love me, I love you, it's right. Now come with me!
N: Latimer, I wanted this for so long, and now - now I don't know, you're so different and is here--
L: Don't make me ask you again, Thaniel. I'm losing my bloody patience!

I tried Dungeon-Be-Gone once, didn't like the effect it had. As much of a bore as doing Château Irenicus is, the effect of that mod is just jarring.

I want to draw fanart, even though I'm not very good. I'm more of a writer, but sometimes I get the itch to draw something. Nathaniel and Latimer. I hope in ToB we learn more about Latimer, he's fascinating... and he spits in Nathaniel's face...

I know nothing about FFVII, but I could probably try to code things for you. There's a tutorial somewhere on how to make 'forced' encounters like the one with Drizzt, that one might apply.

As long as this isn't meant to be a serious mod (there's a mod out there about a pub crawl. Am dying to do it, and I will as soon as my solo character gets back to Athkatla) and it's intended for fans of FF. I'll post my thoughts over in that post.

Yeah, it's not meant to be serious. Basically CHARNAME runs into Cloud Strife and his friends, can get their basic stories, has a run-in with Sephiroth, must not fight him, sees Cloud and friends fight Seph.

Basically, if a FFVII fan sees it, they'd know exactly who everyone is intended to be, even without names.
