f you live in the US, contact your Representatives and Senators by writing and calling them, write to your newspaper, blog about it, let other people IRL know what's going on, because the media certainly isn't.
So while it's not my country, I'm blogging about it, because where the USA goes, Australia is only five years behind.
And if you don't think ready access to birth control is important, rethink it. Even if you dislike abortion, because preventing a pregnancy is better than aborting.
