I'm not pleased about this, it started as some way to get one of my silly music-inspired mental images into words but turned serious on me, ending up feeling like a piece out of a larger series of events that I'm not sure I'll ever get written.
As usual, this is somewhat a crossover AU, with FFVII and FFIV characters appearing in the FFVIII-world as GFs - and I haven't given all their original names either.
But anyhow...
Night Interrupted
Several of the Guardians had taken Griever's tendency to associate with humans in human form as an example for themselves - that is, Balder had taken it as an excuse to spend time playing human and had talked several of the others into doing so as well.
It had probably also been Balder's idea to go out to a club, but with Frigga being the one proposing it very few of the elder Guardians were willing to turn her down - Frigga could be very persuasive when she wanted to, and even Bahamut had trouble resisting her.
Griever glanced over at the booth their party had occupied but only saw Diablos and Pheonix curled together in one corner, and Bahamut with a temporarily transfigured Tyr (something that had been explained while half-drunk on a previous night such as this, with a long-winded and slightly muddled tale about a king whose father came from the moon and his queen and crystals, Bahamut's summoning stone in the last world and Tyr and Frigga being reincarnations of Bahamut's two closest friends) necking like fools in the other corner.
A hand on Griever's arm caused him turn to find Frigga - in her normal avatar of a chestnut-haired young woman (instead of Bahamut's blonde queen), though having traded her usual long dress for hot-pants and fishnets (much to Balder's wolf-whistles) - glancing over his shoulder at the silver-haired version of the Solitary Hero making out with the Lord of Dragons.
"Well at least they're having fun" she said telepathically, cutting through the loud music beating through the club. "Come on, I wanna dance and Seph and Zack are getting themselves drunk." She nodded towards Heimdall and Balder at the bar, before resolutely dragging him onto the dance floor.
The beat was definitely demanding movement and Griever let himself get lost in it, letting go as he rarely had a chance to do most of the time.
There had been plenty of trouble as of late - resurgent political unrest in Galbadia as another sorceress made an appearance (finally Ultimecia's line was starting to make itself known), civil unrest in Esthar causing problems for Laguna, plus the more personal problems of dealing with the tension between said president and Griever's younger self. Certainly enough reason that Griever had been able to talk Squall into giving control over to him and let the elder choose their fun for the evening.
The current music came to an end and the sound of lazy clapping came to Griever's ears over Frigga's giggles of enjoyment, causing him to turn to the figures of Quistis, Irvine, Selphie, Zell and Rinoa, standing back and watching him.
Listening to an unheard sigh from Squall, Griever waved them over to the Guardians' booth. This was not going to come out well, given the expression on Quistis' face - the blonde had never quite trusted Griever due to the events back in Time Compression, despite that in the intervening eight years Griever had proved himself to be trustworthy time and again. Squall softly relayed a comment about the instructor-turned-headmaster not liking that there were two Squall Leonharts for her to have to cope with.
Frigga stepped ahead, changing into her blonde alter ego, slipping in next to Tyr and Bahamut, who pulled her into a position in between the two of them. Griever glanced sideways at Squall's friends, noting the varied reactions - surprise from Zell and Selphie, amusement from Irvine and Rinoa, and annoyance from Quistis.
Balder and Heimdall arrived with a round of drinks for the Guardians and Seifer wandered in from the dance floor with Ellone at his side - Squall's old rival having at some point become aware of his predicted transition into Guardian some time in the future and having started making friends with several of his future family.
Quistis quirked and eyebrow at Ellone's presence - not often being seen since her own forced transition - before turning on Griever.
"What the hell are you doing here, making a spectacle of yourself? Several of our GF roster seems to be totally missing at the same time Garden's commander goes off AWOL only for the lot to turn up imitating humanity in some noisy nightclub, and you showing off like some recalcitrant student sneaking off out of Garden when it stops near a town!" She paused in her tirade to narrow her eyes at him, "and I find myself unsurprised that when I do track you down it's not Squall who is at fault but Griever having taken control somehow? Where is Squall and are you going to let him have control of his own body again?"
Griever absently listened to the internal groan coming from Squall and rubbed the bridge of his nose, as Squall insisted on taking control.
"Quistis, stop overreacting. If you had bothered to check my desk you would have found the note about some of the elder GFs wanting the evening out." The fact that it was Squall speaking was immediately apparent, and it was also noticeable that Quistis had recognised as much. "And as for Griever controlling me, stop jumping to conclusions."
"Squall..."
"No!" Squall interrupted. "Now if you wish to talk this over come see me tomorrow, but tonight is for relaxing, so settle down and have some fun, or leave and let us get back to doing so." With that he stood up from his seat, heading for the dance floor again, while Quistis scowled after him.
(Some day I might even elaborate on the matter of Tyr and Frigga's alternate identities, and Quistis' issues with Griever.)

2007-01-19 13:58 (UTC)(Though I admit, this might be because I have a definite bias towards hot blondes. Quistis... Penelo... where does the chain stop?! ;)
Well I know Rosa Farrell is growing on me, though I think that's a side effect of me taking a liking to Kain and Cecil (I can't bring myself to break up Cecil and Rosa).
I have a whole collection of Sims 1 caps of Aeris in various outfits I'd collected over time. Probably te one I like the most on her is Paine's outfit from FFX-2, but that punk outfit was really cute. Pity I don't have pics of my Aeris sim wearing it in the game itself - though I have Zack/Aeris sims porn.

2007-01-19 14:16 (UTC)But I'll see how much I can do about the whole Griever-Quistis thing from now on, it's definately an interesting side-story in the 'verse.
Some time I'll dig out the pics and make a special post of my old sims 1 porn, just for your sake.
