Okay, so I wasn't able to keep away from the game. I figured when I put it on I'd simply watch through the opening FMV and get an idea of how to handle gameplay.

The Reaction command is going to be a pain - I already have enough problems in KH1 with handling both the attack button and the jump button!

The tasks for making munny on the Second Day are going to be a total bitch. I already tried the cargo one - bugger that!

On the matter of the guide book I got with it: I am in love with the pictures in it! The title page of the Enemies section (listing types of Heartless, Nobodies and Pirates) has large picture of a Dragoon on it. Damn that thing reminds me of FF7's Ultimate WEAPON!
The Dancers are also rather cute and I finally understand something about a comic someone drew with Luxord having a Gambler draped all over him.

And XEMNAS!!!!

Okay, so I knew Xemnas was pretty hot already (Ansemised!Riku is pretty damn hot and he and Xemnas share a face - if not the same hair style), but having nice, clear, large-size picture of him makes it even easier to see. The down side is that Ansem/Xehanort/Xemnas' voice in KH2 is waaaaaaaaaaay too deep for my liking! I liked Billy Zane dammit!

And while I'm on voices I'd gotten used to Leon sounding like Angel so the new voice of his is also putting me off!

But getting back to the point (XEMNAS!), I am starting to think that I can put more than just a perfunctory suport into Xemnas/Saïx now... and I totally am being a silly fangirl by saying that just because I got a nice clear picture that shows just how pretty Xemnas's lips are is.

Riku also has pretty lips.

But, enough. I have work to get dressed for and a damn gummi ship to alter to worry about in KH1 before I can start beating Roxas' my head against those damn errands in KH2.

on the making munny... if you get a good enough handle on the reaction command, the mail delivery one is pretty easy and quick. most of the games there you can't really do effectively until later in the game, when you've gotten certain spells and drive forms and keyblades and whatnot.

Yeah... I stubbled across the section in the book about minigames and all it's advice seem to only work if you have certain abilities which I doubt Roxas has at this point.

I think maybe I'll play the delivery one and see if I can't get good at reaction command - I didn't do too badly against the Nobody picture thief with it.

yeah, I always end up doing the mail and nothing else, because I can get the mail done in 7-9 seconds, so I don't have to spend forever getting enough munny.

the reaction commands do take a bit getting used to, and I think especially if you're coming straight from KH1 (I did, and I kept wanting to dodge roll instead of reaction command...). But I found them to be pretty fun once I got used to it :D My favourite reaction command is the one with the Samurai nobodies! Though there's some others that are neat, too.

ahaha, icon <3

This is about my only purely Roxas icon.

The reaction command is not so bad. You'll understand my view once you have to sing. SING?!? *blows up fucking Atlantica* Seriously I have never hated a game stage as much as this before.

Least once I get the game finished I can dive into all those fics I've not been able to read for spoiler avoidance.

I have not had the problem with spoilers - me and spoilers get on just fine (barring that minor issue over HBP).

Here I was, about to ask for a spoiler cut when I realised I finished this game yesterday. xD

Reaction command's a bit annoying, but it's not really an affair where you only get half a second to push the right button. You generally get enough time to react if you're keeping an eye on the command menu.

I second all that's been said about the mail delivery.
Are you playing in proud or standard mode?

The book is indeed so very pretty. ♥

Xemnas is love, Ansem!Riku even more so.

I'm starting out in Beginner mode - yeah, I know, pathetic, but I am still practically a novice in console games - I've only had my PS2 for a few months and my only console history is tetris, Sim City (classic) and fiddling a tiny bit with Donkey Kong and Killer Insticnt back when I had a SNES, and most of the time since I've had my PS2 has been stalled on the damn barrels in KH1 and I don't have access to powersaves for KH2 (Codejunkies is slow that way) so I'm going to have to play it the hard way.

So, conclusion? I'm starting in Beginner, then I'll do Standard, then Proud.

Sounds like a good idea. :3
It'll allow you to get used to quickly using limits and changing into different forms as well.

And, battlewise, with a few exceptions, it's a relatively easy game.

Yeah. I don't have a hell of a lot of action gaming experience and even less console experience so taking it slow is how I wish to carry it out (plus I am still early in KH1 yet - just finished Deep Jungle).
