Sims Stuffs

Okay, so I finished off downloading that list of sims that I posted links to a few days ago.

I didn't get everything on the list (some I already had), not all of what I did get of the listed items worked (the installer said I didn't have the right expansion pack) and some of what I did load didn't work properly either.

On the other hand, just going to get all of the items involved ended up with me downloading a several extras - mainly because of custom meshes some of the sims were based on and getting distracted and wanting to download all the stuff the mesh-maker had.


Anyway, I finally got Zell's shirt and realised that I didn't have his tattoo so I corrected that. I had to jury-rig his pants though, so he's currently wearing Tidus' pants as they're the only ones that look sufficiently like Zell's for my liking.

I also got a better head of hair for Riku instead of the omgbrightBLUE! one I had before (and thought looked awful - Riku does not have blue hair!), though the style it's in on the teen mode looks more KH1 style and the adult version (which I tested on his parental unit, Andraeus) looks more KH2, but that doesn't matter, it's respectably white now. Oddly though, I left Andraeus with the blue hair because I liked how it looks on him.

I also got updates for Kairi's look too, which I am eternally grateful that EA Games had the sense to make hairstyles one of those things that are freely changable once a sim has been made. I just had to send Treya shopping to pick up Kairi's pink KH2 dress and I was ready to make my little Princess of Heart over. Her hair is probably a little longer than canon dictates though, but it looks good on her anyway.
In a similar situation to Riku and Andraeus though, I didn't change Treya's hair to the KH2!Kairi hair, Treya looks good with the shorter style.

I kinda wish however that someone would make up a skin for Sora's KH2 outfit, and for that matter, Yuffie's AC/KH2 outfit, preferablt for an adult body too, because AC!Yuffie is a legal adult.

Let's see, what else? I'm starting already to dabble in a bit of my only strong FFX ship - Aurikku - and I intend on moving Auron into the Gullwing household, though how it's going to impact in the long run is still unforeseen. I have been shipping the household so far along the lines of Wakka/Lulu, Tidus/Rikku and Yuna/Paine (the latter two just because canon ships do bore me a bit) so Tidus is going to left alone and I may end up shifting Yuna's ties to him instead which will then leave Paine alone. I wonder if there's a Baralai or Nooj skin out there anywhere? Preferably Nooj for some reason that probably has no connection to anything in canon since I know very little about canonical Crimson Squad interaction (besides Nooj being possessed and shooting the others).

I have Hojo, Raijin and Fuujin - none of which are placed, even on temporary blocks (ones where I do final bits of editing - mainly the motherlode cheat and fine tuning of characteristics with my collection of modded items).

I also have Shiva, who had the luck of one of the welcome wagon to her temporary block being Squall. She used one of those aforementioned modded items and is now pregnant with what will be Squall's second child in the game. I will really have to make sure this kid and Ellone Ifalna get along.

That also reminds me, there was amongst the items I downloaded a nice-looking Ellone skin but unfortunealy it was one of the ones that once loaded didn't want to work (it showed up in character construction as a pink-red blouse and beige capris - the standard skin that seems to get traded for non-working female skins). I hope that when I get around to buying the expansions I can get that skin working properly, though I won't be able to connect her up as family to either Laguna or Squall - not that that worries me.


And in non-sim things, I seem to be growing more interested in KH of late, though the only "standard" ship I seem to currently favour is the Destiny Trio OT3. maho_kiwi's recent picture has me definately favouring Riku/Kairi, though I still feel it doesn't quite work unless the two of them agree at some point that they both want Sora included as well.

Interestingly enough I just can't bing myself to be more than "meh" at Akuroku - unless it's laylah's SDRNR versions of them. Call me a flake if you wish but sad endings depress me and so do ill-fated romances.

Off the top of my head, the pairings I do favour ATM are Kairi/Sora/Riku, Demyx/Xigbar, Marluxia/Larxene.
Hell, I don't even like Leon/Cloud much - I'd prefer to see their original selves together in a crossover. Actually, if anything, I'd prefer to read Leon/Sora but that's rare as hen's teeth apparently - probably some sort of late-term shota squick (which makes me very o.Ô because Sora's 15 - waaaaay over my own boundaries on shota).


I think I'm chattering for the pure hell of it. I need to go find something to do but I don't feel like playing FF8, I don't feel like putting up with the slowing effect that Sims2 has on Fëa, I don't feel like running Narri around Durlag's Keep or Blaise around Amn and I don't feel like trying to fruitlessly raid half a dozen archives I can think of to see if I can uncover something that rates as mediocre at best.

I supose all that's left is to trawl my fanficrants and childfree filters in hope of some interesting rants.
