You know what? I kinda feel like joining theatrical_muse again.
Thing is, I'd only do it if a few others would join up as well, with FF characters.
I'm most inclined to apply for Aeris. Tackling the prompts from the view of someone who is dead - who is not miraculously alive again (as became the common excuse in the sidebar RP) - would be interesting.
... Maybe Ellone.
So... anyone else up for it? They have only one FF character resident at the moment - Kuja - and one KH character - Riku.

See the plotbunny is the one I posted some time ago about a Laguna/Squall version of the game events. Having watched through the events in space I just can't accept Squall going after Rinoa if he doesn't have some sort of strong feelings for her.
Besides that, I did try to start writing the thing but - what? I'm barely a few lines in and I'm stuck for words already? Hell, I'm doing better on my1sentence set than on that thing! I only have 17 left to do!
All you lot who said "Write it!" at me? This is what happens when I try to write, I freeze up like nothing else and then get cold feet.
And I still haven't made cake.

Now I have to decide exactly which theme set I want, there's a few themes in Alpha that I would like to write but there's also some that are rather on the tricky side, considering the exact pairing I'm writing (we're talking a GF here, he only appears in the physical world in combat).

Fandom Gearshift
1 March 2006 22:00I've mentioned it before that I never stay in any one fandom for very long. I am currently worried at the moment that something with come along and cause me to shift gears.
There's this mental habit I have of thinking cheesy romantic lines about whatever my current OTP is, which sets me off daydreaming about them.
Up until recently the subject of that habit has been Seph/Cloud (like most people couldn't guess?) but I seem to have made a minor shift and Seph/Cloud just leaves me *blah* when I get one of those cheesy lines in mind.
Current pairing that hits the Yay! button is Laguna/Squall.
I worry that a fandom shift is just waiting for a new fandom to swoop in and catch my attention. (Oh, and I don't consider FF8 a new fandom, it's been co-existing with FF7 almost since the begining, 7 has gotten more attention.)

Tonberries are annoying. Fighting it out with Tonberry King is annoying. There are far easier GF fights than that bugger, even Cactuar is easier!
I can't help but feel sorry for Seifer, in the scene in the Lunatic Pandora he seems so desperate.
It makes me happy that I already know some of the details of the epilogue.
Damn, I am becoming even more of a Laguna fangirl! He's just so cute and dorky!
Esthar is pretty.
Odine dresses funny.
The Eyes On Me scene in the Ragnarok was annoying.
Fighting Adel was annoying. Geez that bint is weird-looking, and having Rinoa stuck to her chest makes her look even weirder!
Oh, and while I think about it, ( GF names! )
I want to read porn, preferably some L/S I've never seen before but we all know that's akin to hen's teeth.
Really aught to go do a bit of sim child-reaering too, I'm sure Ellone Ifalna is near the transition point into toddlerhood which is frankly an easier stage to play then infancy. I'd be willing to freeze all ages for the time being after she hits that point, just so I can get her taught properly before she graduates to childhood (I'm sure I missed a couple of things with the youngest Omoto kids).
That reminds me too, I need to plan out a wedding party for one of my other families - the Omoto family, who the greater half of are named after fangirl japanese honourifics. Everyone in the household was based on fandom skins, Tou looks like Tidus, Kyle is Reno's half-elven cousin, Nee is Aerith's younger dopelganger, the kids were all aged-down fandom skins too but I will have to wait until the grow up to see who they were again (I know one of the boys had Cloud's hair).
Haven't placed the Turks or the Gullwings yet, and I need to see if I can find Yuffie's hair too, and work out how I'm going to set up the family that Sora, Riku and Kairi are in because I don't want them siblings.
Ho hum!

Okay, so, I am clearing up the few lingering side quests - namely collecting leftover GFs. I think I missed Ultima Weapon, I'm going to have to go back and get it, plus I am going to have to go pick a few fights with some Tonberrys.
I am suffering some self-disgust at the moment - I actually don't seem to mind all that much the way the whole Squall/Rinoa thing develops in the game (and there is so a mini-Squall doing that facepalm/scar-rub thing at me!) .
I think I need a good hard dose of fanfic therapy because it is interfering with honest love for Loire incest - aka Laguna/Squall.
Oh and on the subject of our favourite dork, I was so happy to finally get to see him, and to have him on the Rag with everybody else!!! ^___________^

16 February 2006 04:35I was just thinking of a fanfic I read once - reminded of it because I used Diablos against NORG.
The fic was a 7/8 crossover where Avalanche was traveling worlds/dimensions/time trying to reserect Aeris - Cloud being the main instigator behind this quest. Thing is, they had become murderers in the course of doing this, going through various worlds killing key figures off - I know the fic mentioned them killing Tidus - and this time around they're after Squall and his companions.
What I was reminded of with Diablos was that in the fic Diablos is actually Vincent - a version of Chaos.
Seeing Diablos in play I can see where that idea came from, he's all black and red in colouring - same colours as Vincent wears.
Just an idle thought that I felt like nattering on about.

Okay, so I started up FF7 to save a game so I had a savegame folder to move my old savegame files into and it struck me as curious that the sound was better on it than what it used to be.
Somehow I think the graphics card is what has caused that, I only have onboard sound but having a graphics card means it is cruching the numbers for the graphics and freeing up power in the main CPU for it to handle such things as sound. The fact that I have a more powerful CPU now than I did before may also help.
I am seeing the difference having a better CPU is making, programs open quicker and Notepad doesn't defer to Wordpad for longer files.
Also started in on FF8, I'm not giving silly names to the main characters (this time) but I am giving mildly silly ones to the GFs. Shiva's been renamed Ice Queen and I used Griever (the cheat program) to rename Quez Birdy and Ifrit FireBoy.
I'm less than eager to be constantly refering to a walkthrough printout so I'm going to fly [mostly] blind this time, only checking it after I quit.
That's another problem I have, I CAN'T FIND HOW TO QUIT THE GAME!!! I had to Ctrl+Alt+Del to get out of it! Does anyone know where I am suposed to find the Quit command? Yeesh!
Also on the current agenda, I agreed to beta read for Lady Yashodoa. Love her stories but her grammar... is not quite perfect. I don't know how good my own grammar is but I know I can clean up some of the things she has problems with.
Betaing however is NOT like simply reading, simple reading you can ignore minor mistakes but beta reading you have to go through it with a fine-toothed comb so you catch them. There's also the worry of really puzzling sentences that you just can't get the meaning of - worry whether the rewrite you've given agrees with the author's intention.
Ahh, but it's fun anyway, plus it means I get the new chapters of RtD a day earlier than FF.net does.
