I've always figured that Diablos and Vincent/Chaos were the same creature, alternate worlds or not. It all comes back to my theory about Chaos being a banished Summons, and makes me horribly sad to think about, but I love it anyway.
There's also that monster in FF8 called Ultima Weapon that HAS CLOUD'S SWORD to think about. *runs away from rabid plotbunnies*
