So, I hate my keyboard.

But to get on to the subject, I got my new TV off laybuy yesterday.

While the "old" TV is not all that old - we've had it for only a few years, maybe four - but when I was in for surgery a couple of years ago and Noddy came up from Sydney, he decided to try get some of the less common channels on it. The problem is, the TV had the common (analogue) channels preset in it... and that didn't include little community channels like the ones Noddy wanted.

The side effect is that the picture on the screen ended up distorting so it was bowed in at the sides, making everything look thinner than it should be - that ends up rather strange when one is watching David Tennant.

So, anyway, a few weeks ago Target had a special that I thought I could cope with - $400 for a 54cm LCD TV with inbuilt HD tuner and DVD player. Nice!

I did have a bit of trouble, I was trying to figure out how the DVD player worked... without really reading the manual. Ended up getting a disc stuck in there and had to pry it out with my overlocker tweezers. I ended up hooking my other DVD player up to the TV so I could play Clash of the Titans. Oh, and the disc that got stuck? That one - Clash of the Titans. Good thing it didn't get scratched.

Anyway, with lots of scanning the manual and experimenting, I found how to change to the setting for playing DVDs from and external player, which later (after a long sleep) I guessed that that was also related to how to get the inbuilt DVD player working. Yippy-yi-yay, I was right and now I can play DVDs!

I am happy about the nice clear vision on the channels we didn't usually get clear images on, and then there's the extra channel options too. The only thing is, the programming is still crappy, and my sleep pattern is still just as crappy too.

Meanwhile, I spent the whole of today playing the Sims 3. I have managed to avoid crashes (besides the freeze during loading that sometimes happens) and made loads of progress. I have just recently killed off Nick and Vita Alto, and moved Holly and her brother Piere in with the Landgrabbs.

Currently all but Piere (who is a toddler and isn't allowed to travel) are in Egypt, and Holly is doing one of the long adventure series - for those familiar with S3, the MorcuCorp series - good version.
For those that don't know S3 or haven't had the MorcuCorp adventure series, MorcuCorp is a big corporation that highers and adventurer to get some lost papers from a local tomb. The adventurer is then referred on to a flunky who sends them on a few minor jobs. It's after that that the series changes - if the player sim is Good, it is revealed that the flunky who is giving the orders is working to bring down MorcuCorp, who are a pack of bastards. If the player sim is bad, they are instead helping the corporation advance their goals.

Anyway, according to my guide book, I am on the last step of the series - I have to send Holly to the Great Pyramid to find a special relic.

Anyway, I'm tired as shit and wanna go to bed. Cya. o/
