I won't say there's anything bad about Beast Wars - I haven't seen much of it so I can't comment (I think I saw the episode where Airazor was first made, and I have the episode where the Maximals have to repair Optimus Prime in the extras for TFTM) - simply that's it doesn't fit my personal canon. Can't comment on the quality of Beast Machines though, I don't think I've seen any of it.
