Okay, so getting rid of the file I suspected was causing that problem in the Sims didn't help. I did thankfully get through Cassandra's shopping trip, so I was able to do makeovers in the Goth house. I even went to the extent of getting a cosmetic surgery station because there's a couple of factors in the original facial design of the Goths that I was not overly impressed with.
This is the final result, and yes, this is the makeover I lost the first time I had a community vist go AWOL on me.
The problem didn't crop up again until I sent Darren off for a night out on the town (I was intending to send him shopping but a lucky phonecall came through asking if he wanted to go downtown)... but after a reasonably successful session of play, the damn program stuffed up on me and just as I was about to have him move on to another lot, he threw an error and I lost him. The fact that I had the testing cheats on didn't help much because I could get him to go home! Same thing happened the second time I tried to get him to do his shopping, even though his car was right there, the order to go home kept cancelling out.
I'll try again tomorrow, maybe some rest time for the compy will help.
