Books Yech!
31 May 2010 05:23Thankfully, I have finally got through book sorting in the Goth house. If you think this doesn't sound annoying, keep in mind that there are three books for every skill (except Martial Arts and Photography - I don't use the hack to restore those because it conflicts with the one for being able to buy all books), 14 fishing books, somewhere around 20 base game entertainment reading books, 20 french entertainment reading books, 20 Egyptian ones, 20 Chinese ones, 12 toddler books, 19 recipes and 5 music.
The Goth house as it is in this game has 8 book cases, which I put two of every book and four each of all the perishable books (recipes and music disappear after a sim reads them) in each book case. Add to that that I have a specific order I like to put them in... well it's a long and tedious task.
As it is, I didn't put every book in exact order, I mostly just put the various groups in order and left the books in the groups in the mess they go in when I use the "Put All Books Away" interaction.
That's one of the big shortcuts I have - a couple of hacks, "Give" and "Put All Books Away". "Give" is a hack that allows you to have one sim give stuff to another instantly, while "Put All Books Away" is prettymuch the same, only it's for bookcases. I also have a fridge one as well.
Still, even with those it was hard work because I had to separate the stacks of books into two each per sim, and I only had 6 sims to spread the books between.
Anyway, bleh.
