I HAS OVERLOCKER!
20 November 2009 14:08My overlocker is home! No more seams with only zigzag to fight fraying! Here comes the difficult threading!
Got two sets of thread cones for it - one set of white, one set of black. For anyone not familiar with overlockers, they use thread so heavily that they usually have large reels of thread put on them - ones wound on 4 inch (10CM) cones. The ones I got have 2 KM (uhh... 1.25 miles?) of thread on each cone. I'm sure if I look some time I'll fine cones with even more thread on each.
And this overlocker takes 4 cones. I think I've heard of ones that take 3, and ones that take 5, but this one was my price range.
As it is, new clothing to be made before hospital can be overlocked. Unless Mum fusses about the ballpoint needles (they're for stretch fabric).
I couldn't get the Target laybuy off, so I compromised and got the Toyworld one off instead - the one with Bluecade and Sentinel.
On the other hand, I also found out that the recent release of a Hasbro MP Skywarp has already arrived, available at Toyworld. I've asked Mum if she can get it for christmas for me. Starscream will finally get one of his wingmates.
ETA: The overlocker already has some cones of thread on it - only small ones though, probably about a quarter to a third of the size of my 2KM ones. That will make threading easier, as all I have to do is tie the new thread to the old and pull it through. The only part that won't work on is the needles, but that's fine, it's the arms in the lower section are the hard ones.
