Unexpected Visitor
30 December 2008 22:04We have a visitor in our house this evening, a visitor of the feline persuasion.
I think I've seen him around the nieghbourhood before, but tonight, he's showing the signs of having been in a fight - scabs around his throat and ears and seems to want to stay here because it's a safe place.
He's white with black patches and looks like he may be neutered, and I'm sorry I don't have any pictures because the loungeroom light is off and I forgot to take the phone with me when I went to the bathroom (the cat seems to like me, probably because I'm willing to pet and scritch him frequently).
He hasn't been interested in food but has been a bit watchful - not really of us humans so I suspect he's been watching for any other cats.
I think I've been so willing to have him here because I like cats, and a "stray" has a measure of plausible deniability when it comes to the estate's rules against having cats.
He kinda reminds me of Clayton that way - Clayton was the name we gave the nextdoor neighbour's cat when I was 9 to 11 years old. He was an old ginger tom who used to belong to the previous tenant of the house but got given to the people next door and he'd come visit almost every evening, just to hang around his old house and be petted by us (Noddy and Grey were in their early to mid teens at the time). This black and white cat reminds me a little of that situation.
