I am, for the first time in ages, doing a bit of back-up work. Really, I want to clear out the excess savegames from my Sims folder because it's scary looking at the capacity quota for Fanyarë and seeing only 54 GB out of a potential 111 usable space.

I also did a preliminary check of how much is represented by the Saves folder? I cancelled at about 20 GB. It'd be good to get a fair bit of that off the drive and onto DVD.

In other things, after a long chat in [livejournal.com profile] fanficrants with another Baldur's Gate fan, I may go back to that game, as they told me of another slashy romance mod. I'll have to uninstall and reinstall the game and all the mods however, I think one of the mods is causing the crap that's prevented me from doing much in the game that's been sitting there for ages.

ETA: Well doing that back-up and deleting the older saves has managed to boost Fanyarë's available space up to a bit over 77 GB. That's a bit more reassuring.

There's one thing that I have turned sour on in the Sims, building and furnishing houses.

I blame this on having twelve Org families to house (I actually only have two left to house), plus two families of drow with over 5 people in each (one 5, the other 6).

Add to that the annoyance of having ready-made houses that just don't suit my purposes... Bleh. I have one really nice house in my lots bin... but it only has two bedrooms! This is not helpful! Plus I really feel my designing skills still remain rather "blocky" - a house I just looked at again and deleted showed me that.

On other things, some fo teh silly crap I've done on a nieghbourhood level is amusing me muchly. I was finally giving a lot I'd set aside for an Org family a good look-over, and... welll it's sitting facing the shoreline where Kingdom Come is located and if I pull up and out a bit I can get a great view of my shoreline edits, particularly the sea rocks.

See, while I was littering the shore with rock to disguise the crap I'd made of the coastline there with experimental lots, I also dumped some rocks in the water, so the sea view wasn't totally bland (anyone else find a plain sea view a bit boring and wish it had something like an island to break it up?). In a bit of whimsy, the rock that is directly out from KC is that one that looks like a giant head wearing glasses.

The view of that from within lots is mucho amusion.

Anyway, that block I was checking on may finally mean that Lexaeus finally gets a house.
