I think I might have broken my Sims game. See, I started fooling with the Lot Expander again but now I can't seem to load any neighbourhoods without the game crashing. I was hoping it was only restricted to Downtown (where the loads I was altering are located) but Pleasantview crashed as well.
This is a monumental pain because I was hoping that by opening Pleasantview, I could extract the sims I have living in Downtown so I could do a bit of jiggery pokery and replace Downtown with an undamaged version (with minimal alterations needed to be done) because I didn't want to have to replace everything as I'd got a bit of progress done in housing sims, and I'd lose the ones I'd done since the last backup was made (which means predominantly Godo and Yuffie, as well as the fact that I'd got Godo a boyfriend so the house wouldn't be so empty when I sent Yuffie to uni).
I'm pretty sure Hojo's house was done before I loaded BV, and I think Cid was already there, but I'll lose Succubus and I'd definitely lose Wutai and Don will go back to his bachelor pad and I think I'll lose Kingdom Come V.3 as well (Kindom Come 1 had a firey basement, Kingdom Come 2 is what the Destiny Trio and their parental units are living in but it dates from before the advent of cars in the Sims).
I'll try once more to open it, but if that doesn't work I'll just have to grin and bare it and get around to reconstructing Wutai somewhere along the line. I do however love the irony of seducing Don Lothario into being Godo's live-in.
ETA:Well I reloaded an old save, ended up getting a fair bit of FFIV play while waiting for it to copy over too. I'll have to rebuild Wutai though, and I don't think I have Succubus but she was over on Downtown and I only opened Pleasantview. Didn't stay because the custom content was down.
Son of ETA: Turns out Succubus is on the old save. Wutai obviously isn't though. I went and redid the changes I'd made to Storm and Scott's house, though I haven't gone and changed the community lot Scott owns - didn't like the effect it had on my sims' visits downtown when the best nightspot was understaffed.
I'll get around to reconstructing Wutai some other time, right now I need to go to bed and vainly hope I can sleep enough that I'm not half dead at work - not that I'm all that on Sundays anyway but thank the good Lord the supervisor I have on weekends isn't the same as the one I have on weekdays. Maybe I'd get a fair amount of Wutai done after work tomorrow.
