I suddenly have this crazy idea to make a Sim version of Mideel - post Ultima. Admitedly, the Lifestream would have to be a normal swimming pool, albeit with somewhat rounded edges (thankyou expansion packs for giving us a diagonal swimming pool tool!) - if I can get that to work. Before I got the expansions the pool tool was notably stubborn in as much as I could only make squarish pools - I couldn't add a second section onto an esisting pool to get a L-shaped effect.

Actually, that will be the decider of whether I can do this or not, whether I can make a octagonal pool.

On other contruction facts in S2, I think my building ability is slightly hampered. I found while poking around for more creative houses than I can build (even my Queenslander is not that creative - it was based on an actual house I've lived in) I discovered houses that are more storeys higher than the game has ever let me build.

Now I haven't tested the limits of height since I've added the expansions but it makes me wonder because the information on one such house that I read commented about building limits being restricted by the processing capacity of the computer one is running the game on. That makes me wonder at the capacity of Fëa, which I believe is 512MB in RAM. The CPU is a P4 but I can't recall the Ghz at the moment.

But really, I can't worry about that at the moment, the first thing I have to do with this computer is get a new hardrive and transfer every program I can concieve of over to it (mainly I'm thinking the two FFs, SC2k and BG2 - I'm not totally sure of S2 but I think I can recover all my games even if I do, I just have to keep a copy of the EA Games folder safe).

I really do want to move as much as I can off the old hardrive, I keep a regular eye on the space left at the moment and it keeps looking rather sickly. I managed to recoup some space by burning all my stock of S1 items to DVD and deleting the copies on Fëa so now I have a remnant of a bit over 6 gig left. Unfortunately I'm in a total frenzy at the moment of downloading more S2 content so I don't know how long that will last. It's kinda surprising how quickly space can be taken up even when downloading on a dial-up connection.

Anyway, can't go experimenting with pools yet, I need some nap time before I go to work.

In somethign totally unrelated though, I am seriously considering changing my default icon to Shelke.

This can be counted as Mimi's Not Quite So Random Followup To Her Random Thought of the Day.

To put it simply, the observation on Balarlai's complection being similar to Xehanort's has reminded me of how Squeenix likes to make all of their bad guys (and girls) white-haired.

Let me list the usual suspects: Jenova, Sephiroth, Ultimecia, Kuja, Yunalesca, Baralai, Ansem/Xehanort/Xemnas, Kadaj, Loz and Yazoo, Wiess. All of them are white-haired.

The one who is a little questionable is Baralai - as that manifesto makes note of. He was possessed and really is only as much the true villain of the piece as say, Seifer. But it still means that through the mechanics of possession Shyuin has white hair by proxy.

I would be curious to know the hair colours of villains in other FFs - both before 7 and after 10-2. Maybe it's a theme that only started with Nomura but that would not be totally accurate because I have this impression that Nomura had nothing to do with 9 - barring borrowing Vivi for KH2. Plus going against the custom, Marluxia is totally not a silverhair - though silver-haired villainy makes its appearance elsewhere in CoM, in Riku's half of the game (if I'm not mistaken).

Anyway, it kinda makes me think that one may be able to predict who the true villain is in Squeenix productions (at least in FF stuff) by seeing who has the white hair.

And this post so demanded this icon!

Has anyone else noticed how similar in colouring Baralai and Xehanort are? Both have white hair and dark skin.
