Crisis Core
20 May 2006 20:17You know, it's so interesting to watch the effect new canon has on a longstanding fandom. It's kinda fun to sit back and watch fandom explosions when people get Jossed - like what has happened in the last two HP books, or as I have been getting inklings of, in Doctor Who with some of the contents of the new series' second season - or the FF7 fandom with all the stuff coming out due to the Complication Compilation.
It's been under a week since Crisis Core pictures have hit the fandom and I am already amused that Soldier shippers are starting to write smut fics that includes Angeal - the CC character who is suposedly Zack's mentor and Sephiroth's friend.
It's rather a cute idea Zack being the inexperienced youngster of the group - something that up until now Cloud has always been.
I do however wonder at what point Angeal disappears. He sure ain't there in Nibelheim so how are Squeenix going to get rid of him? I have been idly contemplating the possibilty that his death contributes to Sephiroth's "coldness" by the time of Nibelheim and, to some extent, his eventual madness.
Hrrrmmmrr.
