YES! I took down Omega WEAPON without using The End!

Here's my Proof of Omega! )

Now admitedly, I still did use cheat spells - ones like Catastrophe and Apocalypse - but those aren't a garanteed end-of-fight spell like The End is. What does make this fight survivable is having Holy Wars on the first menu page of one's battle items list (which is sortable without having to sort the whole inventory as you have to do in FF7). One really good trick is to get your team injured so they're yellowed out then pull a Holy War on them without healing them. You'd have to watch carefully with this that the Holy War doesn't wear off because if they are low enough to be yellow they are low enough that if Omega pulls one of it bastard moves (like Meggedio Flame) they'll be gone in an instant.

I actually had my three (Squall, Irvine and Quistis - because I like their Limit Breaks) Holy War'd to start with, lost it, got hit by Meggedio Flame had Squall and Irvine KO'd by it and was lucky enough that Quistis still had one point with which to toss her megalixir that I'd cued up when I saw the bastard move coming. She then Holy War'd herself, Shockwave Pulsar'd Omega, then tossed a Phoenix Pinion (which healed Omega a bit but.. meh, made up for that with some of the following moves!).
As it was, by the time I got the three Holy War'd again they had been hit again by some bastard move so they were yellowed which allowed me to pull limit Breaks like candy on Omega's ass. Lionheart and Shot+Pulse Ammo is a right treat on something as hard as that asshole!

Now they're standing outside Ulti's room, all the GFs devided up between the 6 of them (as oposed to my usual habit of piling them all up on my active three - because there's no way to predict who Ulti will grab for the final fight).
