I find myself wondering about origins of some characters - particularly the Turks.

Of course it's a fanfic that's kicked me into this frame of mind - it has a scene with Elena talking about being a Turk and saying how she got there (this fic has her a cop who moved into the military then into the Turks).

It has me wondering about where the Turks come from. BC has origins listed for some of it's PCs (one was a bodyguard for Don Corneo, one was a Costa Del Sol detective, another was a mercenary) but the original Turks - the ones from the original game, Tseng, Reno, Rude, and Elena, were never really given any. I supose that's the fate of being secondary characters - I haven't seen any info for BC that says anything about Veld's origins (or any of the Originals that appear in it either).

Reno has some fanon about him being a street kid and given some of the discussions I've read about translating his AC dialog it sounds like canon gives some sort of impression that direction (the now-infamous "yo" is apparently translated from a japanese word that really has no meaning - is just useless slang that gets tagged on the end of speech - I'm crappy at remembering what it was I saw stated about "zotto").
Tseng... commonly considered to be Wutaian of some degree.
There's nothing I can recall definately about Rude actually, so he must not have much fanon about him and his origins.
Elena... Poor girl gets written off too much just because she's the rookie. I did read one fic where she was Rufus' secretary prior to being enlisted as a Turk - I think I like the idea of her being a cop better, the logical progression in profession is clearer.

Meh.

So, I edited a save-game (not the main one though) and gave my team in it a Master Summon and got it into my head to see what the Knights of the Round was like. I didn't want to use it on something as pathetic as Cappawires though I went around to the swamp (yes, the save-game was on the eastern continent - my latest lot of levelling up) and waiting for a Zolom to turn up. Ooooh boy! Talk about overkill! Sure, Sephiroth may need something as big as that to pwn his ass at the end but on a Zolom? each hit took out three quarters of the beasitie's HP! XD

Anyway, enough fooling around, I really should get my butt to Gold Saucer and deal with stuff there.

Random thought: I am seriously considering setting this icon as my default.
Scratch that, I've done it.

Can't help it, *Poings at icon* my Strifentine obsession demanded it.
