
It's an interesting persuit, collecting limit breaks, first of all, for ones that have a prerequisit of a certain about of usage of the previous break, it's all a matter of letting the enemy pound at the character while keeping their HP up. Aeris' Fury Brand break is also damn useful for these ones because it speeds the process quite well.
Then there's the breaks that are dependant on a kill quota. There it is a matter of directing the character one is working on to be the only one doing damage, which means that the others get Restore and any command materia equipped. I have discovered that one can occasionally steal a Bommerang from Formulas and an Ether from Cappawires. Yey for the bommerang, free new weapon for Yuffie!
I currently have all the limit break aside from the final ones for Cloud, Aeris, Yuffie and Red XII. All of them are in the high 20's in score, though I haven't broken 30 on Cloud who can't help being ahead of everyone else (Aeris is second because of using her as healer and because of Fury Brand).
I suspect I will be able to go fight the Zolom successfully when I'm finished levelling up, and I won't be surprised if Cloud tops 35 or 40 before I'm finished working. Junon is going to be a fecking breeze!
The way Cloud is always ahead of everyone else is one way of explaining why - in game mechanics - he's over 99 in AC.
Oh, and how's this for silly? Red casts Bio on group of Cappawires, then Cloud casts Cure on them, the Red casts Bio again and Cloud casts Cure again. All to keep the Annoying Shits casting Grand Spark at them to push limit break bars up. Such fun and games. :)
