mimi_sardiniaWell I finally decided to move on in KH2 - got Roxas up to level 8 and over 1000 munny - and now he's at a spot right before a key plot point. So now I feel like elaborating on my opinions of the plot so far,
So I'm on Day 6 - yeah, I know, I haven't been playing it much lately because levelling up depresses me - but first I need to go back to Day 4.
So Vivi. I have seen comments around concerning his resemblance to a Heartless. The blank black face with nothing but a pair of glowing yellow eyes - and on top of that, the twist in his hat? He does look Heartless! Those same comments I've seen around also mourned that nothing was made of that in the game but I don't think that's so - the simple fact that it's Vivi who morphs into Axel seems to imply a vague connection.
I don't like Axel's voice. Hell, I didn't like Reno's voice either but somehow I thought it sounded more fitting for him - it doesn't work (in my mind - YMMV) for Axel.
Since I'm seeing the first AkuRoku scenes... I don't yet see much that'd suport the pairing. So far Roxas has been told he was friends with Axel and acted a bit disbelieving. Later, when Axel corners him in the Back Alley, well one, Axel would be a damn creepy person to be facing like that, and two, Roxas' comment about them being friends? He does remember, he's just trying to get Axel to lighten up with the one useful piece of info he has.
On the other hand, I neither do I see Roxas/Namine. All she is, is the one person who seems to be willing to tell him anything.
I noticed something, in the diningroom scene between DiZ and "Ansem", it is brought up that "Ansem"s own memories are clearing up as Naminé is restoring Sora. What does that say about Riku's situation between CoM and KH2? If even he can't remember Sora then how did he end up working for DiZ? DiZ doesn't seem to have known that he was anyone else but "Ansem" so it strikes me that before that DiZ has not seen Riku's natural face nor heard his name. So either Riku hasn't been working with him long, or he's been keeping the hood of the Organization cloak up - even before his transformation.
Oh, BTW, I really don't like DiZ. General fandom opinion has been suported by seeing the game itself.
