It had a police investigation and the investigators get suspicious about one man. Somewhere in there is forensic study of carrot sticks and some of the investigators resembled characters out of TV shows (you know, CSI and NCIS ones).
There was also a part where the guy they are suspicious of looks a lot like a character out some old movies - and by old, I mean 50s or 60s stuff. The movies are about a cop who merges bodies with an alien - an alien that looks like a floating ball with a hole in one side that has light flooding out of it.
When the investigators talk to the guy over lunch he asks for no carrot on his salad sandwich.
They eventually interrogate him, and in the interrogation cause him to split into parts - two different floating balls and one human. At least one of the floating balls is outragously gay and the guy... looks like Squall.
