The only reason why I am not frothing at the mouth right now is due to my almost legendary laid-backedness and apathy.

I spent all evening fighting in the Battle Area and finally got Omnislash, plus a Pre-emptive materia and then the Keystone, only to have the game crash halfway through the date when I hadn't saved!

Edit: I am seriously considering passing on fighting for all those BP and just editing the damn Omnislash manual into a savegame.

OH NO!!!!! SOmething like that happened to me when I was playing the game....I leveled up for two hours in the mansion in Nibelheim.....only to DIE at the thing inside of that safe. I WAS PISSED. I didn't pick up the game for a month. However...getting Omnislash is a little harder and takes up a LOT more time. *petpet* I'm sorry. That's the worst.

And after all teh trouble of going after it on the first disk, plus losing matches so I lost Cloud's nice comfortable limit break level (it was one of the pieces of advice I saw on the post about getting it on disk one, have Cloud's limit set at about three quarters before going in so it charges up in time to be of use on the last match of each battle).

I really am going to go the Jenova way (cheat).

*giggles* You can cheat using the pc version? Can you do that with the ps version too? I have both versions....and if I end up getting a new computer, I think I'm going to start playing it. Not sure why...but just to be random. (Plus, I've had it since 1998 and I've only done the first bombing mission about 923857927592 times)

There's a cheat program for PC - a save-game editor - I got ahold of, named Jenova. It's a bit thingy at times but I seem to have worked out how to avoid it's hang-ups most of the time.

I don't know about the PS version, I presume that's what GameShark is for though. I've heard it has it's hang-ups too though.

Oooooh.....I might have to check that out. I really don't want to spend hours in the Gold Saucer trying to get Omnislash. I just want it to use it a few times, say "YAAAAAAAAAY HOT!" and then move on with my life lol. What other cheats does it give you??

There's quite a lot it can apparently edit - inventory, Gil, GP, limit bar levels what limits are learnt, from what I've seen Love Point scores (haven't tested that yet, probably will because it's easier than playing the whole game over four times just for the date scenes), probably even stuff like EXP, HP and MP levels.

My last toying with Jenova was editing in some Master Materia (the ones you get from the Huge Materia) so I could take a gander at what it's like to use them. Even using the against a Zolom the Knights of the Round still seemed like massive overkill given they were hitting for scores up over 3000 HP each and the Zolom is only 4000 HP.

Cool! I'll have to check that out. It kinda makes me feel cheap because I don't even look through walkthroughs and guides until I'm finished with a game...but...I just want Cloud's overdrive. XD
