TF Sighting - G1 WAS SO SMALL!

I was poking around in Target today and was rather amused to see the Universe Optimus Prime - it's a reissue of the G1 toy! And slag me if it doesn't look tiny, especially since I have MP Optimus and Leader Class movieverse Optimus.

Not that I'd get it, the old arm cutouts to make space for the wheels looks daft and his head... I'm not impressed with the mold. Honestly, MP Convoy has spoiled me when it comes to Optimus toys.
It was however cute to see the classic version of Roller, no matter how cool my Battle Rollar is.


Anyway, I ended up putting an Ironhide toy on laybuy, my first Ironhide ever (really, I have never seen Legends Ironhide anywhere), though it's the blue "Offroad Ironhide". I am debating declaring it to be Chromia and getting a proper black Ironhide to be the true Ironhide of my collection. As I told agiftedmind in IM, I really think Chromia has been done a disservice with the motorbike toy that a lot of the femmes get recolours of, she deserves a truck.

Anyone got advice on what sort of paint I should consider for giving a TF toy highlights?


And though agiftedmind has done me a great favour in laybuying a Voyager Ratchet, I'd still like to get a Wahmbulance Ratchet - the red and white movieverse Ratchet. Can't really plan for it yet though, today's money was taken up in a number of small things.

I have an unopened Legends class Hide that comes with desert blackout. I still dont know why I got him now. XD

Black Ironhide would be pricey though. Upwards to about US$100, including shippin gand handling. And thats just on the starter bets. Chromia would be AWESOME as a truck.

Like.. and small buggy. Actually the pictures on Teletraan are very true to the old Roller design - here (http://tfwiki.net/wiki/Roller).

As for Ironhide, well he's a similar situation as Wahmbulance Ratchet - he'll have to wait until I have more money.

Repaints aren't hard to do actually. You just need Acrylic paint and clear nail polish to seal. It's making new parts I've not done yet.

D: Darn you and your point about Chromia. My Ironhides would appreciate it, too.

Universe Prime 25th is the G1 mold?! Crap, glad I didn't get him. I already have a G1 Prime. He needs repairs to a hand.

Yes, Universe Prime is the original G1 mold. It looks tiny to my MP-affected eye, and I'd be best not to bother because I'd feel beholden to buy a G1 Ultra Magnus to pair him up with.

Mmm, MP Prime. I want one. But my Botcon monies are for Music label Soundwave and Rumble/Frenzy headphones and Probably MP Starscream. (Jet ho here)

Offroad would be a great Chromia. :D Maybe a lighter neon blue? And possibly use a wash.

I don't have a clue how to do a wash, I have never tried to repaint a toy, besides maybe scribbling over Recon Barricade's Decepticon crest with a silver pen.

Either Testors Acrylic or Tamiya Acrylic! A good hobby shop should carry at least the Testors, though I prefer the Tamiya.
