Sim Modelling and genetic experimenting

Well it seems my previous version of Khyilenna didn't get saved. I was a bit miffed about it because I was ready to start work on the rest of Mareph's family but ended up having to remodel Khyi again.

This time I didn't bother with silly ideas like trying to turn Bella Bachelor into an acceptable Khyi and instead used a base that I knew was good - I used Maritas Prima, who is actually based on Starwing (see icon).

It seems an irony that when I got done she ended up looking quite similar to the one who started out as a Bella clone - I guess when you're using the same tools, similar results will come out when one takes into account personal tastes.

But due to game crashes, I lost the first Maritas-based Khyi, and ended up having to do her again, this time saving after I finished basic facial alterations, and then again after her make-up (including tatts) was done. Her clothing isn't done yet, but at least the facial structure is complete.

Khyi small
Khyilenna - everything done except setting her clothing.
Actually, the outfit she's wearing here will eventually be her swimwear. I put her in this because it doesn't get in the way while working out her frame details - muscle tone and size, fat, and breast size. Particularly breast size - most outfits drape over the bust so I have to find a suitably form-fitting bra for working on the bust. This one is a Gaga one - one based on a bra from a Lady Gaga video, probably Alejandro.

Then I had some genetic fun:

Mareph small
Now using the Mortimer look-a-like Mareph as the other genetic donor I decided to see just how Harliquin would turn out:

Base Mim
This is what came out - without any cosmetic alterations to fit the character. She came out with Mareph's hair colour before I decided to remove the red highlights.

And after cosmetic work...

Full Mim
Senna Orin Mimnristriqua Malaasa-Praadss... in her "Maskerade" persona.

Here's a close-up of her face.

Mim made up
She akes mostly after Khyilenna it seems, but maybe that's a tendency with the game - children take after the parent of the same gender. I don't think it's a set rule, because while Antoinette usually looks like Cornelia, so does Mortimer to my mind - but then Mort is a starter character and maybe the designers at EA made him to look a bit more like Corni than Gunther. Hmm...

The silver hair does help with making Mim look like her mother though, but it's part of Mim's established character that she has silver hair, and if one were to study the inspirational process, Khyi got her hair colour from Mim, by way of backwards logic (i.e. if Mim has silver hair, and her father has black, where did her colour come from? Her mother of course! But then Mareph's mother and aunt both have platinum blonde hair too - he's the odd one out inheriting black hair from his demon father).

ETA: As it turns out, Mim here takes after her father in looks, not her mother. While doing genetic experimenting to create acceptable Briieth and Oraania I turned a copy of Mareph female... and he was almost identical to Mim's base (the dark haired starter Mim up there), and most of the differences were due to hair style and clothing (like Mareph's glasses remained while his earring (I think) turned into a tiny hat).

I still haven't got onto making Oraania, or Briieth for that matter, and I am vaguely considering seeing if a thin version of Mimi might be usable as a base for Orin. I won't put these sims into play until I have a complete set of the Praadecalla family backing Mareph up.
